Founder & Medical Director Eccles Clinic, Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon
Denis Lawlor is a consultant plastic surgeon and founder & Medical Director of Eccles Clinic.
He qualified in medicine from UCD in 1969 and in 1980 completed a fellowship at the Microsurgery Research Centre at St Vincent's hospital in Melbourne , Australia.
On his return, he introduced, for the first time in Ireland, reconstructive microsurgery procedures as well as a National Replantation service. He received his consultant appointment in 1984.
Mr Lawlor is co-founder and ex President of both Irish Association of Plastic surgeons , IAPS and the Irish Hand Surgery Society (IHSS).
He has always had a keen interest in teaching, training, and expanding the specialty so that more consultants are available to treat the public. He was the RCSI representative on the Special Advisory Committee for the UK and Ireland, overseeing surgical training standards.
Recently the Irish Association Irish Plastic Surgeons, IAPS, honoured him with an award in recognition of his service to Irish plastic surgery.
Eccles Clinic is founded on the basis of "see and treat“ with a emphasis on patient care – a simple idea that acknowledges a very large number of plastic surgery patients can be 'seen' and 'treated' with local anaesthesia as an outpatient, making it quicker and more convenient for the patient.
